back in 1999/2000 i had the great opportunity to write and draw my own graphic novel for PALLADIUM BOOKS creators of the post apocalyptic world RIFTS. the story, now titled MACHINATION OF DOOM was originally serialized over eight chapters in a quarterly magazine titled THE RIFTER. after much demand the story was collected into one volume back in 2006 with new art and additional story source material. i had a great time laying out this collection and revisiting the world i played in so many times in the past. it was and is definitely a highlight of my career!

i have never showcased the complete wrap around cover image (click the image above for the full deal!) i did for the collected edition here on this blog, so, i thought i’d do that now. i’m still pretty happy with the image, though i would tackle the burster (the guy on fire) a little differently now…

over the coming weeks i will showcase, for the first time, many of the new character pieces i did for this collected volume.
