a free comic from a galaxy far far away…

as mentioned in my previous post there are a few things on my table right now. aside from RESISTANCE for wildstorm and NYX for marvel, the other fun little project is a short 8 page star wars story for dark horse comics. the little tale stars kit fisto during the clone wars era kicking some geonosian ass. the short is part of dark horse’s FREE COMIC BOOK DAY offering which contains a variety of stories from their stables.

i’ve taken the reigns fully on this little project and in turn am doing the full art chores all the way to colours. something i haven’t done for a mainstream comic since my days on spellgame for speakeasy comics back in 2005. the look of the story will be very much in the vein of kukuburi.

so come come may 2 2009 run down to your local comic shop and grab this little freebie. you’ll recognize it by the cover below…

green river killer: a detective story.

for months i’ve been working away secretly and now it’s time to pull back the curtain. i was approached by dark horse comics last summer about working on a true crime detective book based around the murders of gary ridgway, better known as the green river killer, and the detective, tom jensen, who hunted him down over the course of 20 years. this original graphic novel is written by jeff jensen, the son of said officer. but rather than hear me blather on, why not read what jeff has to say about the project as he talks with mark rahner of the SEATTLE TIMES.

i am truly honoured to be part of such a special project and will post tidbits as i am able to.
