may i ask who’s calling?

well degrassi: extra credit volume 2 is just about wrapped up. just dotting the i’s and crossing some t’s. the book wil lbe out in the next few weeks – once i know more i’ll pass along any info – as well as a potential release party around the end of november.

in the meantime here’s a piece i did a few months back for a insurance magazine that has taken kindly to lil’ old moi. the theme was that of a employee hording phones. thought i’d have some fun with it, make it look like he’s been collecting for some time.

and now for something a little different.

last month andy belanger and myself had an art show at local annex lounge insomnia. while andy’s show as taken down due to the monthly turn around of art shows, mine is staying up an extra month due to a cancelation.

the show, titled “andy and ramón take the call“, centres around the theme of phones.

this first piece, PHONESCAPE was a collaborative freeform effort between andy and myself and measures 40″x60″ and it glitters. listed at $600:

the next TOUCH TONE is a concept piece by myself. each wood canvas measures 10″x10″, for a combined area of 40″x55″ taking into account spacing. all the typography is hand painted, no stencils were used. due to the space chains were  used for hanging, though each piece has a individual sawtooth hangers for a clean personal installation.  listed price is $600.

the last piece is a diptych with a nod to hello kitty, with a slightly disturbing bent. it is a mixed media piece of layered gesso, acrylic and ink on a 20″x40″ canvas. listed price is $600.
