Ramón K Pérez is an established cartoonist, illustrator, and designer with over two decades experience in the creative field. He is a multiple Eisner and Harvey award winning artist and has also garnered such accolades as TheThe Honour Book and Official Selection 2008 Silver Birch Non-Fiction Awards, ForeWord Reviews’ 2010 Book of the Year Award, and The Shuster Award for best graphic novel 2012, amongst numerous nominations, for his collaborative works in children’s literature, digital media, and comics. 

Ramon is also the Managing Director of the prominent Royal Academy of Illustration & Design (RAID) an artist co-working community and powerhouse creative agency known as The RAID Studio. Their repertoire of clients include Warner Bro’s. Canada, Hasbro, CBC, Corus, and Showcase, amongst many more.

Currently Ramon is completing his all ages graphic novel Kukuburi while also collaborating with Chip Zdarsky on Stillwater, a horror-thriller series from SkyBound Entertainment. His most lauded works include JANE, a modern retelling of the classic Jane Eyre, with screenwriter Aline Brosh Mckenna (The Devil Wears Prada, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), and his adaptation of Jim Henson’s Lost screenplay Tale Of Sand, both for Archaia Entertainment. Other notable works include illustrating and co-writing NOVA with Jeff Loveness for Marvel Entertainment, The All-New Hawkeye with Jeff Lemire, and The Amazing Spider-Man: Learning To Crawl with Dan Slott. Outside of comics Ramón’s work can be seen in the award winning Fear This Book, and the young-reader’s adventure series The Max Finder Mysteries for Owl Publishing which he illustrated for 7 years.

At the end of the day Ramón calls a 100+ year old converted stable in the midst of Toronto’s west end his home. He shares the space with an array of plants, a life-sized Boba Fett, various curios and Knick-knacks ranging from collectible toys to vintage weapons, all the while wondering where life and career will take him next.
